Product: Organic Minced Ginger
Rating: 7 of 10
Usefulness: Handy, but not my first choice for ginger
Price: Under $6
Where to Buy: Amazon or the organic section of your store. Price seems about the same.
I cook with loads and loads and loads of ginger. I love the flavor and it’s a major ingredient in many Korean dishes I make. We were perusing the organic section of a store recently and came across this. The price of fresh ginger root had been high and I thought it would be interesting to try this. The prices seemed similar. If you compare organic to organic this was cheaper!
I have used this in multiple recipes now and I think it’s a nice product. On the other hand, I’m not likely to buy more. On the upside, it is convenient and the price stacks up well. It also has a nice texture. On the downside it was a bit less potent than the fresh cut ginger root I grate. I felt I had to use more of this to make up the difference in flavor.
However, if you are looking for a good quality option that caters to convenience this is a solid buy. It looks like it is the same price on Amazon as it was in our local store. Amazon also has options to buy in modest bulk quantities. This may be hard to find in grocery stores with small organic sections.
